Re: West Ham consider £30m Wilshere move
Wilshere is one of those players who as a youngster is bigged up by the media as "the next [fill in name of footballing legend]" but then fades with every passing season and turns out to be just another journeyman.

If he were a footballing genius he would not have been sent out on loan by his club at age 25. He can't get in a struggling Arsenal side with its fair share of pedestrians. I'm afraid Wilshere just isn't very good.

And he's no better than our current midfielders so why would we even consider him?

Re: West Ham consider £30m Wilshere move
Clearly a talented midfielder, but suffers badly from injuries. Would be madness to spend £30m on him

If he were to sign and stay fit he would be our best player by some distance

Season long loan with an option to buy is more our style.

Re: West Ham consider £30m Wilshere move
Why are we talking about this when our PL status is not yet confirmed, and even so, no we don't need another injury prone expensive signing, he'll do his knee within 5 minutes of arriving.

Wilshere? Oxford? Building a strong English spine courtesy of BERKS? Can Devonshire still do a job?

Re: West Ham consider £30m Wilshere move
This is a late April fools story surely

If Wenger get £30m for Wilshere he should be knighted and given the title deeds to the Emirates to do with as he pleases!

Re: West Ham consider £30m Wilshere move
All WHUFC transfer rumours are foolish, April or not. TBH, I'm amazed people bother discussing them with any seriousness, whether it's Somersetlive C&Ping the Sun (why did they pick THAT story, in particular??) or with Sullivan's GOB record.

(We in for Renato Sanchez yet? SURELY Fonte can swing that?)

We need a new goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford for me, and a big no to Wilshire, break the bank in signing Ryan Sessegnon, Andy Robertson, Harry Mcquire and Gylfi Sigurðsson.

Spot on...We are seeing the same thing with Ross Barkley at Everton...He is an English player who looks like he can pick out a pass - on occasion.

It's not an insult to say they are average compared to a lot of players in Portugal and Spain (as an example) who play in the same position - and we are not talking first class stellar names here - just competent mid table ones.

Which is why a lot of them play in the Premiership because their wages are about half of what clubs pay for an English eligible player with so called potential.

I dont know who a poundland circus is going to attract as the marquee players that are talked about but 30 million for Wiltshire might be our limit.

And thats over paying to say the least for someone whis been on loan, injury prone and almost out of contract.

Where our owners are concerned, I'll believe the signings once they've actually happened. Last year was a Joke, we were associated with just about everyone and ended up panic signing a load of toilet.
